Hanging around...

Ran errands in town with Piggy today, time spent together after having not seen or spoken to each other for so long. It's like things were as new and that nothing had happened, except it did.

Where does the time go? Where does anything that slips through careless fingers go?

Nothing to do but frown...

Seven days to soak up as much as memory can possibly hold. How is it that only when confronted with something so omminous does one finally realise, this is it?

Rainy days and Mondays always get

Raining like crazy outside now, and all dark and gloomy inside. How does one say they're sorry, or that maybe, just maybe, they might've been wrong?

And the answers. Do they all come at once, like some sort of fabled epiphany, or is it a slow, gradual process of realisation that comes with time?

... me down.

The rest of my life, haunted by the eternal rhetorical question. What if?

Tamade.

Tamade for dinner with Viv, lucky enough to get a booth again (anything else is a waste of time). Cucumber salad, garlic mashed taters, m. crab cakes, one whole road-kill chicken, and the must-have lychee margaritas.

Cabbed to Max's after, only to discover that the fondue is now a whopping $2 more (?!!). Still, nothing like the real deal... strawberries, mallows, bananas and the best of the lot, sweet bread. Debated a second round but as it is yours truly has to hibernate for the next few days in order to make money last til end of next month... (Where does the money go?)

Sent lappy in for servicing just as the Acer gets back, sans motorboat. How is it that such a simple job has to take 5-7 working days? Also spent 10 minutes trying to explain password spelling to the guy. Simple word, buddy.

On another note, Fox Clothing gets a huge thumbs up.

Forfeit the game.

LP = Awesome. Despite the restless queueing from 5-8pm outside the Padang (?!) in the sweltering heat, then waiting inside again for it to start... and when it finally did, waiting again (with increasing impatience) for the opening act (Korean band PIA) to finish their seven numbers. Almost 9.30pm before the gig itself finally started, but when it did... it did.

Three metres away from the stage, squished between bunches of sweaty, smelly people, but for once it didn't quite matter. [Bro cheated on betting of first 2 songs, since their itinerary was almost similar to the Live in Texas gig.] Have literally never jumped and rocked so much in my entire life before (a little sad, but better late than never...). Rubbed up against by thousands of people (in particular the busty malay chick behind), entire tee practically soaked with sweat from all that jumping and screaming and head-banging, and between the 2 of us we still found time to drown 3 bottles of trusty gatorade/water. Half deaf now and didn't manage to get stuff signed OR buy a souvenir tee, but damn was it fun. Am officially a bit too old for rock concerts though. Crashed the moment I got home til 3 the next day. More exercise than I've done in a month.

And the pictures, courtesy of bro's camera.

One of the better Chester photos. (That's me bottom right!)

Blurry Mike pic, but the only one on cam.

La nuit le finit jamais.

Plagued by mossies while banging on rickety keyboard in study instead of lappy in comfy bed. Apparently, laptops and I have no chemistry whatsoever. After the Acer disaster, my barely 4 month old newbie has something wonky going on with its wireless port.

Squabbling with dad over the use of this one.

Tiring day. Much-needed haircut, then down to Queensway in search of specs case and band (so they don't slip off tomorrow..), and bro's most unsubtly coveted pair of shoes. Only managed to get the case - annoying since I saw the band at Bishan of all places just yesterday - then back to town in search of boots. Walked from 6-8 purely on that, before ending up at the very first section I started in. Fickle.

And only one cab in the entire process.

Restraint.

E-yeh?

Lazy, lazy Sunday. Church(??) at 9am(???), macs brekky after, then HP with brother where these bunch of Philipine people next to me were making such a din throughout. Aside from the non-stop chattering (you know how it is) and numerous going in and outs (THRICE?!), the guy would go "e-yeh?" in this hilariously bewildered tone at every tiny bit of magic displayed (no, seriously), as if it were something utterly unexpected and mind-blowing. Like come on, its Harry Potter for crying out loud, and you'd think after at least 2 hours of the plot he'd have caught on a little.

Miss drunken-slut land already. Way too hot here, and the people are driving me nuts.

Cat on a hot tin roof.

Back in flogging-land as of last night, and its crazy, crazy hot. Burnt up en route to the baggage carousels, what more while waiting for the cab to arrive... A/C on at full blast but am still feeling like a blobby layer of oil and sweat.

SB was awesome. 2 encores, the last of which was utterly swoonsome... worth every cent, though I still can't understand why anyone would cry over the swing-bit, let alone twice. O_o? Pleasantly surprised by over-enthusiastic crowd. Goes to show people here actually can rise to the occasion when they want to...

One down, another to go on Tues. Must stock up on Gatorade.

Unfinished symphony.

131-225 finally done and boy, does it feel good.

The obligatory dimsum tomorrow morning 1030 (?!!), Vic mart before it closes for yet more chocs and stuff, then 'chauffeured' to school (yay 14 books) to hand up dumb essays and give the folks the official tour of campus.

Do YOU know how to use a can opener?

tihi.

(Gonna harp on it for a while.)

She wishes she smoked.

You recognize the feeling approximately 20 seconds before it hits you.

That clenching, sinking sensation in the lowest columns of your guts just before the bile rises, faster than you can swallow it back, and you find yourself gasping for air as if you would in vacumm. It lasts a further 20 seconds. The aftertaste lingers for days.

Just fucked myself out of a decent average this semester.

Out here on a ledge.

11am, Saturday. Attempted to sleep relatively early 6 hours ago and ended up tossing and turning in bed til now. Due at the library in 3 hours, folks arriving in the evening, JM closed on Saturdays. Monday a public holiday. STILL no news re: SC. WTF is going on @#$%^&?!

Two down, two to go. Burnt out. So fucking burnt out.

And I say baby
yes I feel stupid to call you
but I'm lonely
And I don't think you meant it
when you said you couldn't love me
and I thought maybe if I kissed
the way you do
you'd feel it too

Burnout.

3 whopping essays due in 2 (yes, t-w-o) days, and yours truly is still impeccably calm about it, DESPITE the fact that the faculty has yet to get back to me with regard to my SC submitted a week ago. I should get an award for unfailing courage under pressure.

To make matters worse, the folks are due in slightly more than a week, and there's the chore of sprucing up the place before they arrive. That, and the fact that I'm due back in flogging-land in exactly 2 weeks so even if I wanted to extend anything further, I can't. Yay me.

Slacked a month away on useless things. Despite all the whining I'll probably get things done just in time to whiz back anyway, but some things never, ever change.
