I haven't (and will likely never be) been the most devout of followers, but in my own, strange way, I shall grieve. It's not that he was Catholic at all. He was a man strong in faith but simultaneously non-xenophobic and embracing of other people and cultures while staying true to his own; a man more tolerant of differences between people than most you'll ever meet. The next Pope has a lot to live up to.
